You dismissed "wedding cake messages" as "total bullcrap". Did anybody even so much as decline Farron service in a shop? No.

All they did was condemn him. You know... exactly like he condemns them, only they didn't lie about it like he did.

You're a guy who dismisses real bigotry as unimportant unless it involves prison or worse... but when somebody so much as speaks out against something YOU believe in, that's discrimination at a "fever pitch".

This shows you haven't read the link and are just replying here to be antagonistic, nothing else. Farron has not been condemned just for one particular view - he even said at the end that he does not believe homosexual acts to be a sin. That is a liberal, not a conservative position. The hostility is at the fact that he is a Christian, and does not seem to embrace the LGBT mantra to the (extreme) extent as others. If that's not the death of tolerance, I don't know what is.

Farron may not have been denied service - neither has any gay couple, in the way you are implying. What they are being "denied" is a specific icing arrangement that promotes a message the shop owner does not agree with. If Farron wanted a cake that read "Nazis are fantastic" or something and got turned down - fantastic, the shop owner should have that right. To position this nonsense as "bigotry" and "discrimination" is pathetic and ignorant of the real problems in this world.

To compare the ridicule Christians face in Western Europe, to a situation where the entire surrounding society celebrates you and waves your flags and marches in the streets in your honor is absolutely mad. Gay people were certainly treated unfairly in decades gone by, but now the tables have flipped and it is Christians who are being discriminated against. That is not right either.
