The Rat Patrol was removed from UK TV after protests about its "America won the war all on its own" viewpoint. Pity really, because it was very popular with non-bigots. I've heard a lot of dumb reasons to get rid of stuff, but I think that's about the dumbest yet. I agree. It's not without precedent: Raoul Walsh's 1945 Errol Flynn movie "Objective, Burma!" was withdrawn in the UK and not shown again for about 7 years because it gave the impression (again) that the US was the only country fighting in Burma. It may seem petty but some ex-army people take a dim few of this kind of thing (which still goes on today, see "Enigma"). I can see their point but it shouldn't be used to bash everything American.
