Nope, they still desperately try to pretend they are still "grounded" and in a "real" world compared to the MCU and stuff. The people making these movies just don't have it in them to fully embrace the comic-booky nature.

I'm willing to bet they'll do everything in their power to play it like a "serious" alien movie. They're probably watching Ridley Scott's Alien and James Cameron's Aliens and The Abyss right for reference material. They'll also probably try to crib Independence Day.
