In regards to a sequel for Beetlejuice, I don't know if Keaton could save it. IMO Burton's best films did star Keaton, but I think he'd probably overkill the concept, as I watched Beetlejuice a couples weeks back. And I was surprised that Keaton is in the film for under 15 mins, but he had that much of an impression it felt longer. The humour and the timing was simply spot on, from both the director and actor. Really the story was all about Geena Davis and Alec Baldwins' characters, and Beetlejuice was an effective punchline every now and then. With what Burton's been dishing up in the last decade, you can't help but feel iffy, yet maybe a break from Depp would bring out a refreshing change in creativity. But I won't hold my breath. I had no idea that Keaton only was in Beetlejuice for such a short time, as you said, it felt like he was in for much longer, but it has been some time since I saw it, and I will try to have this in mind, while having another go at it. I did take a fast look at some of his most recent stuff, and it seems like he has not done a film with either his ex-wife or Depp in some time now, well beside maybe being named producer on the Alice Through the Looking Glass, but maybe it is for the best for all parts. When it comes to Batman Returns, one of my favorite scenes is when Batman is approaching the Penquin and his circus of freaks down in the sewers, and you can see the fear in their eyes, as they release that the Dark Knight is closing in, and Cobblepot is suddenly left all by himself, only with a small bunch of penquin soldiers to back him up.
