That rare moment when Michael Bay wasn't a liability. You got Nicky Cage in his prime, Ed Harris intense as ever, and Sean Connery just a total badass. Also stems from an era of the ridiculous yet high concept action movie (see also Face/Off). Here Alcatraz Island (someone I spoke with actually confused it with Auschwitz) is armed with VX gas rockets and it's up to Navy Seals led by Cpl. Hicks to save the day.
