"The observatory made headlines briefly with the announcement on 10 December 1983 of the discovery of an "unknown object" at first described as "possibly as large as the giant planet Jupiter and possibly so close to Earth that it would be part of this solar system". Further analysis revealed that, of several unidentified objects, nine were distant galaxies and the tenth was "intergalactic cirrus". None were found to be Solar System bodies." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IRASWhat do you know, "further analysis" - in other words, science once again being done correctly. Yeah, "further analysis" covers a lot, doesn't it, Meltdown Man? Upon further analysis, the object that crashed at Roswell, NM, in 1947 was a weather balloon.
