The point is that no one would have mistaken a weather balloon for a spacecraft, not even in 1947. That wasn't even good bullshit. That was BAD bullshit. That was on a par with one man killing the President by firing a magic bullet from a bolt-action 6.5mm rifle. Are there any loony conspiracy theories you don't believe? Was Princess Diana murdered on orders of the Royal family? Is AIDS a laboratory invention? Is Elvis still alive or was he alive beyond the date recorded on his death certificate? Is fluoride in drinking water part of a government mind-control scheme? Is Tupac still alive? Did the FDR administration have advance notice of the Pearl Harbor attack and allow it to happen in order to have a reason for entering World War II that the American public would support? Are the Middle Ages a case of fake history and an alteration of the actual timeline? I don't believe Hillary-Rodham Clinton's "vast right-wing conspiracy" theory. And yes, FDR did know that the Pearl Harbor attack was coming. If I hear anything about Elvis or Tupac I'll let you know.
