I see the satire here, but neither of these are worthy of the Oscar's... ...which is a huge compliment to both movies. A blockbuster movie getting nominated for a Best Picture Oscar is a pretty huge deal whenever it does happen. A CBM getting nominated for that award would be an even bigger deal. It would be historic. No CBM has ever been nominated for a Best Picture Oscar. But with the Golden Globes last year nominating a CBM for Best Picture for the 1st time ever ( Deadpool, although that was for a Comedy category), the Academy (which has received criticism in recent years for the lack of diversity in their nominations) might follow the Golden Globes' lead and nominate Wonder Woman for a Best Picture Oscar this year. |
