The talk about Wonder Woman being considered for an Oscar came after they had a private screening for members of the Academy and there were comments suggesting Oscar nominations form some of the members not from the RottenTomatoes score. That's correct. It's not RT scores that determine if a movie is Oscar-worthy, the Academy doesn't give a shit about RT scores. The Academy likes loos at lots of different criteria, such as:
Is the movie risky or does the movie take risks or push the envelope? Is the movie historic or does the movie tell an interesting historical story? Does the movie have a significant impact on society or a significant impact on the industry?
There are lots of different criteria. And the reason Wonder Woman has a chance for an major Oscar nomination while Spider-Man: Homecoming has zero chance for a major Oscar nomination is because Wonder Woman checks off a lot of the boxes on the list that the Academy looks for, but Spider-Man: Homecoming doesn't check off any of those boxes. It's as simple as that.
Dude, you were making Oscar threads from the reviews and RT.
