The mistake here is in assuming that the planet is a great fit for the Humans, rather than that it's the Humans that are a great fit for the planet. Evolution explains exactly how this happens.
It's no different from a puddle of water marvelling that the hole it is in is such a perfect fit for it! Wherever the puddle has a bulge, the hole has a matching dent - and vice versa! Surely this hole must have been carefully made to fit me!
