Friday 15 December 1967 TV schedule for New York City.
Not mentioned in the schedule: The 5-minute news updates that aired throughout the day. That's why old kinescopes and tapes of the daytime version of "To Tell the Truth" are so short, because it was aired in a 25-minute slot (of course, surviving daytime episodes of that show are as rare as hen's teeth...Goodson-Todman were constantly re-using those tapes! Fortunately the prime-time episodes have a better survival rate)
The schedules by this point were starting to get more modern, particularly that of NET (predecessor of PBS). NET by this point was increasingly PBS-like: Their schedule for the day includes a British show, a TV play, and even "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" (IMDb says the series debuted 1968. While this is true nationally, the series was already airing on a regional basis in a number of cities starting in 1966).
As with all of the 1960s schedules, many daytime shows are largely lost. That includes "Winchell-Mahoney Time", for which the host managed to successfully sue the production company for erasing the tapes.
