And it's hardly a big risk to sign James on loan. He's not the "Granate" many expected (winner of the most overused and irritating word this summer), but I'm sure he'll add value to our squad from day one.
Remember how little creativity we had when Thiago was injured or having a bad game? With James, we'll have another player in our ranks that can shoulder this responsiblity. In any case, I'm willing to give him a chance before writing him off straight away.
And regarding the South Americans: Yes, those guys you mentioned were terrible transfers (you forgot Sosa
). But we also had guys like Jorginho, Elber, Paulo Sergio, Lucio and Pizarro...Plus, we had plenty of German no-shows over the years as well: Frings, Podolski, Götze, Schlaudraff, Rau, Jansen, Borowski, Görlitz, etc. - so no need to be so dismissive towards players from a certain country and much less from an entire continent.
