There is something special about John Candy. Even in roles in films I did not care for, he is so very watchable. (cough Uncle Buck cough)
Another one I especially liked was Only the Lonely ! Not "fall down laughing funny" but such a nice guy that you can only hope that things work out for him.
Enjoyed reading your mini Candy essay very much.
PT&A is at least an annual viewing here in the BatCave as well and it seems to get better with multiple viewings.
Additional wonderful scene just came to mind:
Del selling the curtain rings to make some $$$$ !
