The excessive acting nominations for Feud are just absurd. Stanley Tucci, Jackie Hoffman, and Judy Davis did NOT deserve to be nominated. Their performances were either ridiculous caricatures or just flat-out bad. And if I'm being sincere, Susan Sarandon didn't deserve a nomination either because she basically just played herself trying to imitate Bette Davis.  None of them deserved to be nominated, including Jessica Lange, who was completely over the top. Sarandon made absolutely no attempt to even channel Davis, outside of a few clipped words. Lange portrayed Crawford as a loony, constantly crying or screaming or throwing things. It was entertaining but hardly Emmy material. |
