Oh man, some guys really fall down hard. While Steve Martin had a fantastic run of classic and hilarious films from the late 70s (The Jerk) and up till around the early 90s (House Sitter/L.A. Story) the stuff he has done since have mostly been truly shockingly bad, I mean so bad and unfunny I cannot believe it is the same guy. The last two films I saw of him was the godawful "comedies" Bringing down the House (2003) and the almost as bad, The Pink Panther (2006), and Martin even co-produced and wrote those turds. Anyway, this is no time to bring up his worst performances, instead here some great and very funny slapstick comedy from his heydey with one of my favorites, The Man With Two Brains (1983) where Martin is up against mother nature as a good hearted but whacky surgeon who wants to mix the perfect mind/brain (Sissy Spacek) with the perfect body (Kathleen Turner), however, fate has a certain way of making a bad joke out of his genious plans, and it do bring along many memorable scenes, such as:
The Doook of Oil scene where Dr. Hfuhruhurr has found the dream body, but one that comes with a voice from hell.
Or the part where his newly wed wife played to the absolute steamy and hottest level by Kathleen Turner, decides to cool things down a bit on their wedding night.
