Why does it always have to be a virgin who gets sacrificed in movies? Because they are pure and supposedly innocent. I guess they could use male virgins, but fear on film usually projects more effectively onto female characters. If it works just as well with a male character, then they have done a good job. In the original The Wicker Man-73', it is an older virgin male cop that is the sacrifice and supposedly a greater more superior offering to the pagan gods. |
