I Need to Know Movie Answers You Are Surprised With

There's this film scene I remember. It seems there are three men on a boat. One is an oceanographer. Another is a war veteran captain of the ship who hates the oceanographer. And the third is a guy who thinks they need a bigger boat to hunt a shark bigger than the boat. Can anyone tell me what film this is from? I also remember a mayor who said the oceanographer wanted to prove there was a hungry shark in order to get mentioned in the National Geographic.
