Maybe Bruce and Alfred have a one on one discussion about Superman, hint the hologram Bruce looks at in the trailer. Maybe he studies his powers and realizes that he can return. It's possible he even took his body believing this.

This was one one of my predictions a few months back, because he's Batman. Just like in the animated series when everyone thought Superman died but only Batman knew he didn't.
