Perhaps I shouldn't answer, as I don't know that I could abide Columbo with anyone but Falk, but...

He's been my choice for playing Columbo in a hypothetical remake for years, and then--whatta you know? I found out he thought it was a good idea too!
He looks like Falk, to be sure, but--fine actor though he is--I wonder if he could grasp the essence of the character...
