Why are people so excited about the paycut some of the cast are willing to take?
1. The actors playing Bernadette and Amy made less in previous contracts because they were not around at the beginning, and were not as central to the show. Yes the writing has changed that, but the contracts haven't caught up yet.
2. It has nothing to do with them being women, and everything with number 1 above. The actor who plays Penny makes as much as any other actor on the show.
3. The trio of Penny, Sheldon, and Leonard made more than everyone else, including Raj and Howard, until the last set of contract reneogiations.
4. Each of the core 5 offered 100k from their 1 million per episode. This means that Bernadette and Amy will now make half as much as each of them, hardly seems as praiseworthy as people are making it out to be.
