Truth is, even though Marvel claims it was Superman 1, the modern genre and especially MCU was greatly defined by X1 and X2, along with films like Hellboy (Cap 1 ripped off the WW2 scenario and hero going into the present).

MCU is an artistic dwarf, sitting on the shoulders of giants. Not acknowledging and honoring them makes MCU even smaller and vanilla ice-y...

The MCU was created because of those movies, no doubt about it, and I was a big fan of those. The creation of the MCU just opened up the world to something greater. No one is taking from those movies. They just have been surpassed in scale and vision. Still great stand alone movies. I'm including superman and Batman.

The appeal of the MCU is the big picture. A solidified universe like the comics.

I don't see anyone involved with the MCU not acknowledging that quite the contrary.

Also caps story is many, many years prior to hellboy, saying it's a rip-off is nothing less than plain stupidity.

Frankly, for someone copycatting some others poster's hyperbole MO to fight fire with fire (or fanboy shitstorm with fanboy shitstorm) you seem remarkably tone deaf and slow. Cum grano salis much?
