"This is where the law stops...and I start...SUCKER."
Cheesy 80s action goodness with a great cast. Brian Thompson is such an entertaining psycho villain. I don't understand how that guy didn't have a better career, at least in action movies. He was terrifying in this movie. It is kind of impressive seeing how much he changed from the more goofy looking, wannabe hard-man in The Terminator (1984) and 2 years later comes off as almost being more menacing than even the Terminator. From the Wikipedia page: Thompson's athletic build and unique facial structure were key in the initial roles he was offered. He has stated that it has occasionally been a double-edged sword when it comes to auditioning for roles, but it has provided him with consistent work. Thompson said, "If you're very physical in stature, you're gonna get hired for action movies. The star's always going to be chasing someone so they need an equal adversary. I'm never going to play a nebbish geek." Well, he tried the geek approach though, but even with those heavy set Clark Kent glasses that the Night Slasher wore, it just made him look even more scary, and as were most guys of today would probably just come off like some weak ass hipster, this guy meant serious business.
