I don't understand how that guy didn't have a better career, at least in action movies. He was terrifying in this movie. It is kind of impressive seeing how much he changed from the more goofy looking, wannabe hard-man in The Terminator (1984) and 2 years later comes off as almost being more menacing than even the Terminator. From the Wikipedia page: Thompson's athletic build and unique facial structure were key in the initial roles he was offered. He has stated that it has occasionally been a double-edged sword when it comes to auditioning for roles, but it has provided him with consistent work. Thompson said, "If you're very physical in stature, you're gonna get hired for action movies. The star's always going to be chasing someone so they need an equal adversary. I'm never going to play a nebbish geek." Well, he tried the geek approach though, but even with those heavy set Clark Kent glasses that the Night Slasher wore, it just made him look even more scary, and as were most guys of today would probably just come off like some weak ass hipster, this guy meant serious business.
I'm not sure you can say he tried the geek approach is one of his characters, who was attempting to disguise himself, wore glasses for five minutes. He was good enough in Cobra that this guy should've had a bigger career. He's a working actor, which is great for him, but this dude should've been the villain in so many action movies. He was wasted so much in Lionheart.
