Depends how you compare.
Scorsese's work post 2000 has been very hit and miss. Hugo was good, The Departed had (mostly) excellent performances but doesn't hold up as well on repeated viewings. Then again I wouldn't consider Taxi Driver to be a masterpiece, it's got to be Goodfellas.
I've highly enjoyed all of Tarantino's work, Jackie Brown being my ultimate favourite. I don't know why Tarantino is being ambushed on here, but just because he hasn't been in the biz as long as Scorsese doesn't make his knowledge of the craft lesser.
You can see the influence and drive in both, when you begin to compare the two is becomes apparent just how much these guys have in common with each other.
