That links a full episode. The claim was that all stories were based in fact, some pass the test, others were hoaxes.
John Newland was a very important aspect of "One Step Beyond" and in my opinion at least as important to the show as Rod Serling was to "The Twilight Zone"...he not only hosted or introduced stories, occasionally he would enter the stories themselves as hinself.
