The NFL has a huge military presence before the games and in their advertising demographic. When Kaepernick decided to call patriotism into question he alienated every one of those GI's and the NFL bigwigs. Kaepernick is another in a long list of "look at me" black athletes. Fuck him....he's reaping what he's sown. It has nothing to do with patriotism. It had to do with what he felt were abuses taken by law enforcement. The whole "soldiers died for our flag" bullshit and that overblown Toby Keith type of "patriotism" has nothing to do with why he knelt. |
