to this day I am not sure how this happened: my boyfriend at that time and I were sitting on a couch, watching tv together for several hours, at least two hours without a break. Once the tv was over, we got up and were walking to the bedroom. As we were getting closer to the bedroom we smelled what we identified as a leaking gas. We looked at the gas oven/stove and two out of the four knobs that turn the gas on were half way turned and the gas was leaking (no flame).
Now the really odd thing was: neither of us cooked on the stove that day, or was even close to it. The couch we sat on is in the same room as the stove, and no further than 6 feet away from it. Nobody else lived in the apartment, nobody else had keys that we knew of, and furthermore, we had cctv camera pointed at the door and it didnt show anyone entering the flat while we were watching tv.
The only "rational" explanation we came up with was that one of us must have "turned the knobs unintentionally" while doing something else?? How crazy is that though? Both knobs? Without realizing what we were doing? and when, since we were both on the couch the whole time? I want to also add that we are both fairly sane people who certainly didnt want to die and would never pull pranks like this on each other. We were both genuinly freaked out…
