interesting list. mandarich - offensive lineman correct? van poppel - pitcher for the As? jefferies - i remember he was on the Phils for a bit (mets too correct?) - seemed like a mean spirited S.O.B - i remember he was decent but i guess he never lived up to expectations - had a reputation for being a dick russell - feel for the guy - substance / weight issues adu - yeah - he actually played for Philly's soccer team - kid was supposed to be a phenom at like 14 sucks when some of these guys don't live up to expectations after being drafted - was van poppel just a complete bust or did he have a respectable career? www.baseball-reference.com/players/v/vanpoto01.shtmlVan Poppel was highly rated coming out of HS. Consensus #1 pick but he wanted a King's Ransom. The Braves had the #1 overall, passed on TVP and took a signable HS SS, Larry Jones, aka Chipper. Mandarich was the greatest OL coming out of Michigan State. But he couldn't juice in the NFL. Next three picks, Barry Sanders, Derrick Thomas, Deion Sanders. Jefferies had a respectable career but he was bred from the cradle to be a HOF player. Adu was called "The Next Pele" at age 14. Who the hell could live up to shit like that? JaMarcus was a reach. Never was that good, even at LSU I never knew Chipper's real name was 'Larry'
