Freddy Adu - by the length of the straight. The kid was being described as the best player in the world at 14, would dominate the world of football for years to come and make USA a powerhouse. The 'hype' was extraordinary surrounding him. And frankly, he never even came close to doing any of it. At least most 'draft busts' have outstanding college careers. Adu didn't even have that. He played a handful of good games in the MLS as a teenager. That's it.
