Ever see a deer that's starving to death ? I have, not pretty.
Ever see a deer along the road with its back broken? I have, not pretty.
Hunting is a necessity. There's no natural predators to take out the deer population anymore. Wolves and Mountain Lions are gone. The excess either starve or get clobbered on the road.
Life isn't Bambi.
