dont employ one-so i suppose its me, none of my lads give me sh-te though -as most are self employed so its on them - but i could be banished from doing that soon..(if i get a visit from the wrong department ) because not many have other work. they work full time for me... ..my apprentices, however are all employed, so I give em holidays , equipment, pay there NI -also bonuses for the absoloute sh-te pay they get,(at least 150 extra a month- unless they really piss me of) they get public liability , use of vans, public indemnity, full training, colledge days to become fully qualified. some of them phones,i get grants of the government though. They have no set hours or places to be though - if they have to be in newcastle on saturday - they are in newcastle on saturday - if they then have to go to brighton - they go to brighton.... its a tough gig. the self employed lads kill it(money wise) if they have to do that sort of work...so some whinge , but that doesnt last long as the pay is pretty good. there is too much red tape at big firms- i play my own rules , hard but fair. my lads do well without the need for government intervention - if i went over 1m turnover however i would be on the radar and have to offer full time work to the vast majority which would cost them all about 1k a month (but only benefit about 200 in pension and get some holiday) and they couldnt claim on tax expense claims each year (average 3k) - This is in the scenario if i was to make the same profit margin due to employment red tape. most would leave and i would have to re employ and have a much different relationship based on rules and fcking bollox)- which is the irony of it all. i wouldnt want to work in that environment at all. its not my style at all.
