what do you do frog? HR are needed in big firms though - they protect the employees, even f it doesnt feel like that. and yes the directors want sticklers - the last thing anyone wants is a fcking lawsuit over something due to a non 'anal' hr employee making decisions based on merit or real truth or motivation over rules. I would employ the most anal HR employee ever if i had to employ all my workers. pharmaceuticals/research and development/i.t. when i say 'i.t.' i mean light i.t. - alleviate pressure like testing DBs, modifying SAS codes to directories and batch running programs, and downloading data to file shares. (trained monkeys can do it - like a lot of things in life - task based/project management oriented) bartend PT on the weekends i like a 'straight shooter' in life. and i know that's unrealistic at times. if it's me and you talking eye to eye behind closed doors - drop the BS. have just never gotten that feeling with my dealings in HR. 'Company Men/Women' so to speak. And I agree - I think it's necessary to an extent - I just don't like dealing with them - feel as if I'm getting talked to by a used car salesman.
