A good joke needs setting up really, pretty hard to do that in a one liner.
I dunno, probably too many comedians at Edinburgh, too many cloggers, too many audiences laughing at bad jokes.
I think we're getting too soft on comedians in this country. And if you go to the theatre and watch a play it gets even worse, people laugh at the worst jokes which are not funny by any objective standard... why?
There are some really good comedians about as well, but if the audience is too polite to tell the stinkers; "you're simply not good enough mate", you know what you end up with? The BBC commissioning 'Russell Howard's Good News' for its 11th series.
