Out of all the ridiculous trade rumors, this one is one of the dumbest.
The Knicks won't do the deal unless Cleveland takes Porzingis PLUS Joaquin Noah's $80 mil benchwarmer contract off their hands.
How is this attractive to the Cavs in any way? You lose a dynamic 25 ppg scorer and playoff veteran and gain another one-way stretch 4 on a team that already has one (Love) and he's a liability deep into the postseason because he gets abused on defense.
Yes, KP can block shots and he's better than Love defensively, but as a Knicks fan I've seen the kid play regularly and he's not a great defensive player or even a very good one.
If I'm Cleveland's GM I'm looking for a proper 2-way PG who can respectably run the point and take some pressure and mileage off of Lebron. This is a league currently scarce in legitimate two-guards, but I'd also be looking to upgrade from JR Brick. I realize the Cavs are at a disadvantage because other teams know they have to move Kyrie, but still, the potential Porzingis trade (as reported by Woj) doesn't address any of the Cavs' needs.
