Deary me, what a post from cabbage brains here.
The Klu Klux Klan's core values are white supremacy. As well as "claiming" to uphold Christian morality (which they don't), their other core values are for a white America (whether that be by genocide, a race war or deportation is a little muddled), plus they have a long, long history of violence, murders, lynchings, bombs, terrorism, intimidation, fear and wreaking havoc wherever they go.
I would fail to see how anyone who voluntarily joins such a hate group could class themselves as a "decent" person. Or how there could be any "good ones" amongst the protesters as Donald Trump claims.
The way I understand it, the BLM were setup as a protest against cops killing blacks. Of course they have some fringe nutters in their midst, a few are murderers, no doubt about that, but I don't think you could make the same equivalence like you can with the KKK that they are all hateful people, racists, prejudiced and all the rest of it.
As for your middle paragraph, a better analogy would be, if the left were tarring all Christians with the same brush as the KKK, since the KKK "claim" to uphold Christian values, but I've never seen any lefty use that kind of deceitful argument (it may have happened, I just haven't seen it), where as some people in the right commonly conflate all Muslims with the same brush as Islamic extremists or terrorists.
