Jon Lester has to be the most infuriating "ace" I've ever seen, thank god he's not on the Mets (although we have our fair share of infuriating dickheads). He's mostly fine, but he also lays some serious eggs throughout the year. And I guess he thinks he's so untouchable that since nobody will ever be on base, he need not concern himself with the lost art of holding a runner on. I could steal a base off him. Was he like that with the Red Sox? Honestly, I never recall it being that big of an issue until he got to Chicago. Yeah, he was an ace, on a staff with Josh Beckett, Clay Buttholz and Dice-K. I never confused him with Tom Seaver or even Jack Morris. |
