And Lee's death wasn't exploited the way Ledgers' was. So yeah, one cast member dying tragically DOES do that. I guess you didn't watch The Dark Knight at all. The movie never once exploits the death for a tear or two like Furious 7 did with Paul Walker. The fact that the marketing used Ledger's name is the obvious route to take. Not using his name and ignoring his tragic death would've been a big mistake. That would've disrespected his name. Not in the movie itself, but as you said the marketing sure exploited him. |
