No, the flaming was started by MCU fans in 2008 right after Iron Man was released. MCU fans swarmed to the TDK boards to bash TDK.

Both fandoms started it. I remembered when it happened, a lot of it started on the Spider-Man 3 boards before the shitstorm hit iron Man and The Dark Knight message boards.

Before that the Batman Begins board got hit by Tim Burton/Joel shitmucker fanboys.
