NETFLIX'S DEATH NOTE - SPOILER REVIEW

I've been watching the movie. I've never seen the anime or read the mangas,but I'm familiar with both. I didn't realize there was such a huge difference between this movie and the source material. I knew this was very Americanized,but I'd still think that they didn't have to change so much. I don't think the movie is that bad,but it's also because I'm trying to judge this as it's own thing. I do really like Dafoe as Ryuk also. Would you recommend the anime?
