...i'm actually with Egoraptor on this one. it's been well enough established that the Walkman was emblematic Star-Lord's close connection to his mother. yes but it is still abysmally written: To have a dead-mommy revenge conflict (like in IM vs Cap "I don't care, he killed my mom") intersect with silly humor is absolutely tone deaf. Same with the dramatic reveal of killer-daddy where he suddenly morphs into David Hasselhof, or the infamous Hasselhof funeral speech.  The raccoon turds always float at the shallow end of the kiddy pool.
