I would like an honest opinion and not just troll answers. I personally don't really care much for War themed films outside of a couple here and there like Saving Private Ryan. I also was not a huge fan of Captain American The First Avenger which Wonder Woman seems to be compared most often. So I'm asking you DC fans, knowing these things about my tastes is this film worth buying or should I wait a few weeks when I can just rent it for 4 bucks? In terms of being a war film, it's nowhere near the type of detail you get in Saving Private Ryan. There's a trench with maybe a couple dozen people in the battle total, and a village with maybe a couple dozen people living there.
Wonder Woman is almost shot for shot a remake of the first Thor and Captain America, and it's story is far more simplified than either of those two.
It is not more mature than First Avenger as the previous poster suggested and it is not considered a milestone either. He can only be referring to the fact that it has a female lead, however the genre has had numerous female leads from Alien, to Catwoman, to Elektra, to Resident Evil, to Underworld and tons of others. Other than that, there is nothing groundbreaking going on in this film.
It's well made overall (except for the ending), but it's also very simple, and not a whole lot to rewatch so it's not one that I would ever buy.
