Jeffrey Sinclair was replaced with John Sheridan. Catman clearly meant to not have Michael O'Hare play the part in the first place. I agree that Season 1 was the slowest and weakest overall season of Babylon 5. However, that was due to the disproportionate number of standalone and weaker episodes, e.g., "TKO" and "Grail". O'Hare's acting was not the problem. I recently finished showing a condensed list of Season 1 episodes to some non-science fiction fans, and managed to hook them on B5 in the process. I think that the way things ultimately turned out, with the passing of the torch from one J.S. to the other, worked out great. If there was anything to fix on Babylon 5, it would have been how uncertainty about Season 5 renewal forced JMS to accelerate the arc, and move about four episodes from the beginning of Season 5 to the tail end of Season 4. Therefore Season 5 begins with a series of slow, padded, standalone episodes.
