I would have waited till the road was clear, built up as much speed as possible, then BAM, slam on the brakes, then put the car into reverse. You're not getting up from that.
Okay, maybe I wouldn't have done the reverse bit, but the fact that Carroll hit 10 cars during the chase tells me he's a little suspect under pressure.
