Am I the only person that understood the OP was comparing two separate movies, an original and its remake? Yes? Okay.
Anyway, the point of remaking Unforgiven with Ken Watanabe I imagine was the same point of remaking Yojimbo with Clint Eastwood. Only this time, it was the Japanese that copied Eastwood instead of the other way around. My only problem was that there was too much gun action as opposed to samurai action.
