This movie is one of my favorites, although I believe that Debbie Reynolds was much better in later films, especially in HOW THE WEST WAS WON. She had a definite talent for comedy, which was glossed over in SITR, except for her first scene in her car, which really could have been funnier if she was given more of a chance. The best performance was from Jean Hagen as Lina, and I think she was robbed of the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. I never stop being amazed at how you manage to turn even your own shouted threads into a negative reading experience. This is a WONDEROUS and joy filled movie with terrific performances by one and all , fantastic musical numbers, happy and sad moments. Case closed. Why rain on the parade with "shudda, wudda, cudda, " ?
