It was an extremely tough call with this Salzmank
only because there were a lot of great choices
and favorites of mine here as well
.
However the 3 I voted for was -
The Haunting (1963)
The Legend of Hell House (1973) &
The Haunting (1999)
As for my other favorites of mine from this list -
House on Haunted Hill (1959) - a definite fan of Vincent Price & William Castle films
Halloween (1978) - also a fan of John Carpenter films too
Dark Night of the Scarecrow (1981) - I haven't seen this one in many years
but do remember it being a real good one
Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982) - another JC Fave
Lady in White (1988) - also liked young actor Lukas Haas in this one and his other film Witness (1985)
Sleepy Hollow (1999) - actress Christina Ricci
was excellent in this one too
Trick 'r Treat (2007) - anthologies are also favorites of mine too
this film reminds me of Creepshow (1982) & Creepshow 2 (1987)
Surprisingly these films I have not seen
but wish to one fine day via TCM perhaps .
Arsenic and Old Lace (1944)
The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (1949)
Ghostwatch (1992)
IMPO - I also have many other films too
so for another excellent example set that
would really be perfectly appropriate for the season
are these 2 classic films -
Burnt Offerings (1976)
The Hearse (1980)
