Yeah, nice try, but 'Blade Runner 2049' is being made by an independent studio named Alcon Entertainment.
And that's without mentioning that they were developing a sequel since 1999.
Since its establishment, Alcon Entertainment has developed and financed films that are ultimately distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, following a ten-year motion picture production agreement

The production company wants money, they do what Warners Bros. tells them.
Case in point-they made Point Break and Bodhi becomes Latino.
