Salzmank , et al Here is a list of flowers. What two reasons connect them all (no gardening or coding knowledge required)? Golden Wattle Red Poppy Cattleya Orchid Acer Plum Blossom Lily-of-the-Valley Knapweed Bear's Breech Tulip Stylized Lily Chrysanthemum Dahlia Camomile Red carnation Rose of Sharon Linnea Rose Tudor Rose ================ In all sincerity, I'm a bit stumped on this one. When I first looked at it several days ago, I thought a connection could all be women's names, some obvious--Rose, Linnea, Sharon, Dahlia, Lily, Poppy--and some not: Chrisann from "chrysanthemum," Daisy from "camomile" (a member of the daisy family). But then the others tripped me up, and I've not been able to find any connections for them.
So I moved on to political symbols. For most of them, yes: the Golden Wattle is the official plant of Australia, the acer (as a maple leaf) of Canada, the red poppy of Memorial/Remembrance Day, the Tudor rose of the Tudors in the War of the Roses, the rose of Sharon of South Korea, the red carnation of labor movements.
But there are several for which I am unable to find a political connection --so, once again, I'm stumped. Hmmm...
