in recent years, DVDs have started going the way of the floppy disk, and Netflix, the golden child of the streaming revolution, has started catering less to the film nerd and more to the average bored consumer. By 2013 or 2014, Fiore had canceled her subscription after noticing the classics selection had dropped off. She subscribes to other streaming services today, like Fandor and Warner Archive Instant, and holds tight to her large DVD collection. My internet is very poor, and I can't watch movies online. So, I've never used Netflix... Even if I could watch movies online, I don't have the money to subscribe to every service that exists... And from what I have been hearing lately, it sounds like Netflix is setting itself up to go our of business. I wouldn't join then now, anyway... I haven't even "rented" movies in years, since Blockbuster Video went out of business in my city... Since, I like to watch movies & TV Shows again and again AND AGAIN, I just buy the media on physical disc, and can watch it when every I want. My collection is huge too... And I don't know where this BS OPINION keeps coming from, that " DVDs have started going the way of the floppy disk", because DVDs are still being regularly manufactured and sold at most stores. In fact, I have really been surprised, that with the Blu-Ray/DVD combo packs of NEW movies that STILL come out EVERY WEEK, that studios are STILL selling standalone DVD products of their new releases... I would have thought that stand alone DVD packages of NEW movies would have ended a couple of years ago, but NO... If the major studios are still making DVDs, with Blu-Rays having been out for years now, and with 4K Discs now starting to enter it's prime... Then physical media won't be going away for several years.
