I've been keeping out of this conversation after my original post because I'm that weird guy who loved Superman Returns.  I thought it was emotionally moving, well-acted, well-directed, and all "...color, feel-good, heroic," featuring a character who's "...a beacon of light in darkness," as Vaughn put it so well. That's Superman for me. I loved it, too!  Singer was the one that started darkening his suit in the movies. Notice his color is the same as Bizarro in Superman 3. He also made Superman almost secondary to Cyclops's character who he made up for the movie. |
